‘I feel lousy’ – Van Gaal admits Man United form not good enough

first_imgLouis van Gaal admits the start to his Manchester United career has not been good enough and has left him feeling ‘lousy’.After the disaster of last season under David Moyes, the Dutchman’s appointment as his successor was supposed to spark a revival in the club’s fortunes. But United have collected just 13 points from their ten Premier League games this term, making it their worst start to a campaign since 1986, and are sitting mid-table ahead of Saturday’s visit of Crystal Palace.“It’s not good enough,” conceded Van Gaal, when asked to evaluate his team’s start to the season.“I feel, myself, very lousy for the fans firstly, but also for the board because they have a great belief in me and my players and my staff and when you have 13 points out of 10 matches you are not doing well.”Van Gaal remains adamant he will turn things around at Old Trafford, but has warned supporters it may take a long time before he discovers a winning formula.“We are in a process and that process shall take more than one year,” said the former Barcelona boss, who was given a three-year contract this summer.“It shall take three years, I hope, because that is always dependable from a lot of aspects, but I think it shall be and we shall make it happen that we shall win a lot of matches in a row.” 1 Louis van Gaal last_img read more
