Further arrests in Paphos poaching case

first_imgTwo people, aged 35 and 46, have been arrested in Paphos in connection with a case of attempted poaching.They were arrested on Thursday after a 43-year-old man arrested for the same incident on Wednesday testified against them.The 43-year-old is accused of injuring a game warden on Tuesday.The gamekeeper was injured when he attempted to stop four people from poaching in the Paphos forest near Lysos.According to police, two members of the game fund, after a tip off, tried to stop four quad bikes driven by people who were wearing helmets on a road leading to the forest at around 10pm.Though they signalled for the vehicles to stop, three of them got away while the fourth hit and damaged the game wardens’ car.
